Royal Peterson Obituary (1918 - 2010)

Our devoted Daddy, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather returned to our Heavenly Father and Eternal Companion, Helen, on August 18, 2010. He passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side. Royal was born October 20, 1918 in Redmond, Utah to Joseph Franklin and Josephine Frandsen Peterson. He married his eternal sweetheart, Helen Jensen, May 16, 1941 in the Manti Temple. Royal was an active member in the LDS Church and held various Ward callings, including a member of the Bishopric, Financial and Ward Clerk and High Priests Group Leader. He graduated from North Sevier High School and attended LDS Business College. He retired from Hercules. Daddy will be remembered for all the years he dipped chocolates as well as his fudge and boston creams which he delivered to family and friends especially at Christmas time. Royal is survived by his daughters, Myrna (Alvin Ty) Casto, Joan Anderson, Vivian Olson and Elaine (Paul) Faris; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; brother Merrill (Alice) Peterson and sister Shirley Curtis. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, 6 brothers, 3 sisters, a granddaughter, and a great-granddaughter. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff and doctors at Aspen Ridge West Rehabilitation Center. Services Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Murraydale Ward, 6300 South 300 East where friends and family may call Monday, August 23, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at the church and one hour prior to services. Interment Murray City Cemetery.
