June Bunkall Jensen

June B. Jensen died of natural causes May 31, 2016 at the age of 96. She was born July 10, 1919 to David Leslie and Eva Mary Bunkall in Salt Lake City, Utah. She attended Granite High School and though she should have graduated in 1937, she left school to work to help her family during the Depression. Education was important to June and she always yearned to get her diploma...so at the age of 80 she made that dream come true by earning her G.E.D. She spoke at her graduation and was given a standing ovation by hundreds of attendees. On July 22, 1937 she married the love of her life, Raymond G. Jensen. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary before Ray's passing in 2007.

Ray and June had three children: Ronald Ray, Patricia Ann and Kerry Lee. Predeceased by her husband, Raymond; son, Ronald (Tess); and brother, Leslie Lamar Bunkall. Survived by daughter, Pat Jensen Schafer (Tom); son, Kerry (Lucy Fairchild); brother, Mel (Nola); and sister-in-law, Marlene Bunkall; 11 grandchildren: Dylan Rodgers, Jono Rodgers (Catie), Todd Dewsnup (Jenni), Angela Jensen, John DeLira (deceased), Tahei Pack, Kanani Kimma Nee, Princess Jensen, RJ Jensen, Alyssa Schafer and Jeremy Schafer (Karen); numerous great-grandchildren.
June created many new friendships during later years..especially in Sedona, Arizona where she and Ray lived (and danced) for 2 years—then later at the Friendship Manor, and finally the Assisted Living at St. Joseph's Villa. She was a good friend to all. Special thanks to the staff at St.Joe's (whom she loved) and the wonderful staff of Symbii Hospice Care.
