Albert Robert Pearce

Our father passed away peacefully and joined the love of his life at the age of 86 on April 8, 2013. Dad was born May 9, 1926 in Hawthorne, CA son of Reuben and Ethel Pearce. He graduated from Lenzinger High School. He served in the US Navy aboard the USS Lavaca, an attack transport, during World War II. After being discharged, he worked as a finishing carpenter. Later he worked at Kennecott Copper until retirement. In 1961, he married Susanne Yano. Together they had two children, Mark and Leesa. They divorced and he later married the love of his life, Joyce Startup. They traveled the world and enjoyed each other's company until her untimely death in January 2000.
He is survived by his son, Mark Allen Pearce; daughter, Leesa Ann Buono; sister Dorothy Olsen; and five grandchildren.
A viewing will be held at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street, Murray, UT on Saturday, April 13th from 10:00- 10:45 a.m., followed by a Graveside Service at 11:00 a.m. at Murray City Cemetery, 5600 South Vine Street.
