Our beloved husband, father, and "Opa" Alonzo Alfred Plumb passed away at home surrounded by his loved ones on Tuesday, December 13, 2016. He was born February 21, 1931, in Benson, Arizona to Charles and Ada Plumb. On October 15, 1953, he married the love of his life Ranae Bertha Jones in the Mesa, Arizona Temple.
He is missed greatly by all those who knew and loved him. As a family we are comforted by the knowledge that he is continuing to minister in heaven with his hammer and smile.
Alonzo lived a full life of many accomplishments. He was a successful builder, a city councilman, and a proud Army veteran. But his greatest pride was in his family. He took great joy in his family and loved to spend time with them. From ski trips with his children to lively board games with his grandchildren, he always filled everything with laughter and love. He was a world-traveler, taking his family on numerous adventures.
Of Alonzo, it can be said, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant." A true follower of Christ, he was most happy when helping others. His love and knowledge of the Gospel and scriptures inspired many. He was a great leader, teacher and missionary. He served numerous proselytizing and service missions including two to Athens, Greece with his sweetheart Ranae.
He is survived by Ranae and his 5 children, Karen (Tom) Cupps, Kevin (Vicki), Kenneth (Kathy), Kayleen (Tim) Nauman, and Katrina (Tamar) Pedersen; 18 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 7th, at 11:00 am at the Bennion 2nd Ward Chapel, 2480 W. 6030 S. (Kamas Drive), Taylorsville.
