Anne Paulsen Obituary (1948 - 2024)

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Anne, our sweet mother, on Monday the 14th of October 2024. Anne was born on the 8th of April 1948 to Manuel Tom Quintana and Louise Mary Lister in Dragerton, East Carbon, UT. Anne spoke often of growing up in this small mining town with her brothers and friends. They were always up to something and played a lot in the cedars near their home. Anne was kind and had a very calming and quiet demeaner. She loved her family and being a grandmother. She was always proud of all her grandchildren. She shared their accomplishments with others and loved each moment she spent with them. When you came to her house she had a rule that you couldn’t leave empty handed. It was a rule she modeled after her own mother. Her grandchildren always left with little trinkets or random things she picked up. She would say “Check the drawer I think there is something in there for you.” During her life Anne loved to garden and had a green thumb. She also enjoyed cooking and trying new food. She liked to pick up a Salt Lake City Weekly and see what new cool restaurant was open and go try it out. She also loved to read. She would go to the library and pick up several new books a week and then read while she snacked on popcorn or ice cream. Also, to know her you would have to know of her affinity for horror movies and Alfred Hitchcock. She never liked romance or comedy and the only variation from this was her love for the soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful which she couldn’t miss. Anne was preceded in death by her mother, Louise Quintana, father, Manuel Quintana, her brothers Lester and Levi and her sister in-law Arleen. She is survived by her brothers Victor (Frances), Frank (Valerie) and Tim, her sons Leon (Vicki), Chris (Jamie), Anthony and daughter Syndie as well as her nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. A viewing will be held Monday, October 21, 2024 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Home, 4760 South State Street, Murray. Funeral services and mass will be held Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1375 Spring Lane in Holladay. A family visitation will be held prior to the mass from 10:00-11:00. Graveside services will be held at Murray City Cemetery, 5490 S. Vine Street following the mass.
