Ashlee Nelson-Sommers Obituary (1982 - 2011)

Our beautiful Ashlee passed away December 30, 2011 suddenly and unexpectedly at her home in Murray, Utah. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She was an amazing mother to her daughter, Shantelle, whom she loved with all her heart. Ashlee was also a very caring daughter, sister and friend who would do anything for the people she loved. Ashlee was born December 8, 1982 in McMinnville, Oregon and spent most of her life in Murray. She was a very gifted singer and loved music. She loved the work she did which was recruiting and described by her co-workers as being quite a “mover and shaker” and always got the job done. She was really in her element when she was working. She loved what she did and was very good at it. Ashlee married Shawn Sommers on June 1, 2004. Ashlee’s greatest joy was her daughter, Shantelle, who was truly the light of her life. She was so very proud of her, and that special light Ashlee had around her when she was talking about her daughter will be greatly missed by all. Ashlee is survived by daughter, Shantelle; parents, Gary & Roz; sisters, Amber and Angie; and husband, Shawn. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street. Viewings will be at the mortuary Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday morning from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment: Murray City Cemetery.
