Aurelia "Mary" Tapia Flores Obituary (1925 - 2012)

Aurelia Flores passed away peacefully on February 26, 2012. She was 87. Aurelia was born in Crystal City, Texas on January 10, 1925. Aurelia married Jesus “Jessie” Flores in 1945 and they lived in the San Francisco Bay Area until they moved to Utah for their retirement years in 1995.Aurelia had a passion for life. She enjoyed friends and family. She loved being outdoors and traveling with her family of “girls” . She enjoyed quiltmaking, fleamarkets and playing games. At Christmas, she was known for her annual Christmas Eve “Open House” and making tamales. Aurelia had many close friends from all walks of life and she never met a stranger. Aurelia had a close circle of friends fondly called her “Utah Family” and she was “Mom” to all. Aurelia is survived by two brothers, Miguel and Raymond Tapia, sister Oralia Banks and three daughters, Esther Bibb (Arthur), Natalie Flores Prim (Bryan), and Eva Jardin (David); four grandchildren Maria Aurelia Kaanapu, Brendan Michael Kelly, Israel Rodrigues, Jeffrey Bibb, and five great grandchildren, Serena Rodrigues, Mia Kaanapu, Megan Kelly, Gabriella Bibb and Victoria Bibb.A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 5, 2012 at 4 pm.In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee.
