“Murph”\nBarbara Emma Murphy, 83, passed away quietly in her sleep April 29, 2009. Born Oct. 24, 1925 to Christa Zauter and Franz G. Hallman in SLC. \nBarbara grew up in the Avenues and attended East High School where she played cello in the high school band. She married William Joseph Murphy June 8, 1946 and later moved to Murray, Utah where they raised six children together.\nShe always loved working with people. She went out of her way to make people happy—volunteer work was her life. In her younger years, she worked at the Golden Spike Hotel. Later she became a branch manager for National Trailer Convoy moving trailers. She was also involved in the Civil Air Patrol where she held the rank of Lt. Col, and helped many cadets who went on to serve in the US military.\nBarbara is survived by one daughter, Judyann Nepolis (Michael); five sons, Mike (Cathy), John, Frank (Barbara), Patrick (Paula), Bill (Margaret); 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Also survived by her brothers, Jerry (Gloria), Werner (Marion), and Frank (Judy). State Street.
