Barbara Evelyn Porschatis Newbold was born in Tooele, Utah to Walter Herman and Evelyn Mace Porschatis. Her family moved to Salt Lake City, Utah when she was a small child. Barbara later met and married Veldon Newbold. She worked at Wallin Brothers as an upholstery seamstress.\n\nBarbara and Veldon were unable to have children, so her pets became family to her. She had a love in her heart for even stray cats and took care of many animals during her life.\n\nShe’s a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. \nShe is survived by her cousins, friends and neighbors. Preceded in death by husband; parents; and brother, Sonny.\n\nA special thanks to Spring Creek Health Center, One Care Hospice and the Huntsman Center at IMC for their loving care.\n\nGraveside services will be Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Murray City Cemetery, 5600 So. Vine Street. A viewing will be held from 1:00-1:45 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State Street.
