Barrett Bushman

Barrett D. Bushman, a beloved son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on the morning of December 4, 2023, after courageously facing complications from a stroke he endured in January of 2023. Born on November 27, 1959, in Mount Pleasant, Utah to Dick E. Bushman and Susan Dawn Madsen, Barrett lived a life of service and commitment. After an honorable mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Birmingham, England, he married his soul mate, Lori Kae Bird, in the Salt Lake Temple on February 27, 1981, for time and all eternity.

Barrett was deeply devoted to his faith and dedicated himself to numerous church callings, including the honorable role of bishop, where he was cherished by many. His joy was found in serving others and spending time with his beloved grandchildren, bringing happiness to all whom he encountered.

Barrett was preceded in death by his father Dick. He is survived by his wife, Lori; his three children, Barrett John (Amy), Brody Dick (Vickie), Brooke Marie (Mikey) Stephenson; his mother and stepfather, Susan (Richard) Spencer; his two siblings, Brent (Patty) Bushman, Brenda Sherwood; and his sixteen grandchildren, Joey, Bentley, Keaton, Greyson, Andee, Stevie Bushman, Jack, Ty, Sydney, Wyatt Bushman, Roeinna, Lydian, Talia, Camden, Elliana, and Jonathan Stephenson.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 11, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the LDS Stake Center located at 6180 S. 850 E., Murray, Utah. A viewing will be held Sunday, December 10, 2023 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm and again Monday, December 11, 2023 from 11:00 -12:30 pm at the same location. The interment will be at West Jordan City Cemetery following the funeral.
