5/31/1932 ~ 9/23/2019\r\n\r\nBarton LeRoy Hofeltz (Bart), age 87, passed away on September 23, 2019 in Sandy, Utah. He was born on May 31, 1932 in Murray, Salt Lake County, Utah to Darrell LeRoy Holfeltz and Sylvia Snarr Holfeltz. He attended and graduated from Murray High School where he was a member of the Spanish Club, band, chorus, and played football and track. He later entered the Air Force where he was stationed in Korea and Japan. He worked in sales most of his career and owned his own companies. He retired from his flag business that he had operated for over 15 years. He loved selling, repairing and cleaning flags for local businesses. \r\n\r\nBart loved being with his family and helping them and anyone else that needed him. He patiently cared for his mother night and day through her last years as her health declined. He learned to play and love the game of horseshoes from his parents and won several championships along with them. He even built horseshoe pits in his backyard. He loved camping, fishing and hunting, and taking care of a garden and the yard. He enjoyed cooking for others and will be remembered for many delicious items including pancakes, Jell-O and pistachio pudding. He had an extensive collection of Jell-O molds. He had a great sense of humor and loved decorating the house for holidays. \r\n\r\nBart also loved bowling and was on a league (Thursday Misfits) with his brother, sister-in-law and nieces.\r\n\r\nHe was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served wherever he was needed. He was a counselor in the Bishopric, High Priests group leader, and Sunday school teacher among others. \r\n\r\nHe is survived by his wife, LuAnn; children: Pam (Robert) Farrow, Rachelle, Corey, Sherie (Abey), Brandon and Leslie; brother, Richard Dale Holfeltz (Emee); and brother-in-law, Wayne (Valeen) Crawford; and wonderful grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.\r\n\r\nHe is preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Barbara Eatchel and Sue Crawford; son, Darrell Wade Holfeltz and three grandchildren.\r\n\r\nViewing will be held on Sunday, September 29, 2019 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at the Rose Park Tenth Ward, at 760 North 1200 West, Salt Lake City. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 30th at 11:00 am, at the Rose Park Tenth Ward. A viewing will be held from 10:00 am to 10:45 am prior to the services.
