Our beloved Belva Jensen Petersen passed away February 10, 2007 at her home in Murray, Utah. Belva was born August 12, 1909 in Salem, Idaho to Joseph E. and Olive (Dollie) Walker Jensen. She married David Conrad Petersen November 11, 1939 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were blessed with one daughter, Susanne. Dave died February 4, 1958. They lived their married years in Ogden, Utah. Belva moved to Murray in 1966. \n\nAn active member of the LDS Church, Belva served a two-year mission, 1930-1932, in the California mission. She served as a ward and stake Relief Society President as a hostess at the Beehive House and as an ordinance worker in the Jordan River Temple. She volunteered for the American Cancer Society, the Heart Association, and the Red Cross. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She leaves many close and dear friends and family who will miss her. \n\nShe is survived by her daughter Susanne and her husband, Edward Kosmalski, of Reading, Berkshire, England; one brother, J. Golden Jensen; and one sister-in-law, Lois Jensen; and many nieces and nephews and their spouses. \n\nShe is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David; a sister, Ilma and her husband, LaRanne Withers; a brother, Ora; a sister, Mae and her husband, Joe Brant; a brother Ralph and sister-in-law, Phyllis Jensen; and sister-in-law, Evelyn Jensen; wife of her brother, Golden. \n\nFuneral services will be held Thursday, February 15, 2007 at the Murray 23rd Ward, 755 E. Three Fountains Drive, at 11:00 a.m. A viewing will be held Wednesday, February 14th from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street, Murray, Utah, and from 10:00-10:45 a.m. on Thursday at the church prior to services. Interment Bear River City Cemetery. \n\nPer Belva’s wishes, in lieu of flowers, donations to your favorite charity will be appreciated. \n\nThe family wishes to express thanks to all the caregivers who have helped with Belva’s care.
