Salt Lake City, Utah-Bessie Lu Gustin, 84, passed away from natural causes at Spring Creek Healthcare Center.\n\nBorn in Heber, Utah to Pearl Della Locks and Barney Grant Powell. She married Thomas William Gustin December 4, 1948. Lu was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Parish. She loved to knit and made beautiful items for family and friends. She also loved to work outdoors and every summer had a beautiful yard.\n\nShe is survived by daughters, Nancy (Gary) Asplund, Susan (Dave) Wright, Jane Kennedy (Andy Zwan), and son, Thomas Jeffery Gustin, 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, and brother, Jim (Gayla) Burke. Lu was preceded in death by her parents, her younger brother, Clifford Dwight Powell, and her husband.\n\nWe would like to thank the staff at Spring Creek and One Care Hospice for their love and support shown our mother during her stay.\n\nFuneral services and rosary will be Tuesday, Sept. 25th at 11 AM at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State Street, with viewings on Monday evening, from 6-8 PM and one hour prior to services on Tuesday. Interment: Utah Veterans Cemetery, 17111 South Redwood Rd., Salt Lake City, Utah.
