Lena (Billie) Morris Pearson passed away peacefully on April 8, 2023, at the age 103. Billie was born on November 10, 1919, to the parents of Alfred S. Morris and Alberta Walker Morris along with her twin sister, Patsy Smith. Billie grew up in Murray, Utah and found joy in many things but had a passion for music much like her parents. Her earliest memory of her and Patsy was around 4 years old when their chins could barely reach the piano keys. Patsy and Billie would constantly argue who would play the top and bottom of a piano duet. From that time forward, Patsy played the top and Billie played the bottom. Billie started playing piano for her local church primary by the time she was eleven years old and when she was twelve, she was asked to learn to play the organ. Billie performed in the Murray High School band, orchestra, and choir with several instruments including the piano, saxophone, and clarinet. She would continue to play the piano and organ for the next 75 years of her life. She enjoyed being an organist and music director for several wards.\n \nBillie had a delight in party planning and sharing her decorations with church organizations. She shared her time and talents with the Murray Chapter of Sons & Daughters of the Utah Pioneers as well as several other organizations. Her eyes would light up whenever a holiday or party would come around and be able to create a festive environment for all to enjoy. Billie enjoyed visitors and welcomed people into her home. Anyone who visited would be embraced by her wide array of holiday decorations. \n \nBillie is survived by her three children Judy Weber (Gerry), Howard Pearson and Rosalynn Curtis. Preceded in death by her husband Bruce Pearson, her parents George and Alberta Midgely, her twin sister Patsy Smith, her sister Virginia Parker and daughter-in-law Jo Lynn Shelby Pearson (wife of Howard).\n \nFuneral Services will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023, at 1:00 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints chapel at 6300 S 3rd E St., Murray, UT 84107. A small viewing will be held before the funeral service from 12:15-12:45 p.m.\n \nInterment will be at the Murray City Cemetery at 5990 South Vine St. in Murray, Utah where she will be buried next to the love of her life, Bruce Pearson.\n\nThe Family of Billie would like to send a special thanks to the Legacy House of South Jordan especially the CNA's and med-techs.
