Blanche Karen Knudsen Norton Obituary (1913 - 2006)

Blanche Karen Knudsen Norton passed peacefully November 13, 2006. She was born January 14, 1913 to Hans and Bessie Knudsen in Brigham City, Utah, the third of eleven children. She graduated Valedictorian of her class at Box Elder High School. She received an RN degree from LDS Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1934. She married Melvin Norton on February 17, 1934. Blanche loved the Lord and served in many callings in the church, including a temple worker in the Salt Lake Temple. She was an excellent seamstress, gardener, and loved to crochet. Her family meant everything to her. She is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin; her daughter, Carol Lou; her brothers and sisters, Viola, Glen, Edna, Ruth, Henry, Ruby, and LaDine. Survived by her children, Jerry (Kathy) Norton, Judy (Rolf) Njord; 9 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Ann, Phyllis and Gladys; and 1 sister-in-law, LaPreal. Funeral services will be Thursday, November 16, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wilson Ward, 1860 So. 300 E., SLC, UT, where friends and family may call from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment: Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 E. 1300 So., SLC, UT. The family would like to thank everyone at the Aspen Ridge Transitional Rehab for their special care and support.
