“Dedicated Teacher”\nBonnie Christensen passed away on March 5, 2009. Born on January 19, 1950 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Daughter of Walter and Joyce Pierce Christensen. \nShe was a talented athlete and played on the BYU women’s basketball team. She graduated from BYU and then served an LDS mission in Boston, Massachusetts. She was a dedicated teacher at Kennedy Junior High for 30 years. As a teacher, she taught health classes and coached girls’ basketball and volleyball and influenced hundreds of children for good. She loved her family and was a lovely sister and aunt. Her favorite joy was to spend time with her family, and especially her nieces and nephews. She loved the outdoors, wildlife, and her wonderful pets.\nSurvived by her brothers and sister, Walter (Zada), Arnold (Ann), Joy (George) Batty, Jean (Lee) Eyre; and numerous nieces and nephews. \nFuneral services will be Monday, March 9, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street, where family and friends may call from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Interment: Elysian Burial Gardens.
