Bonnie Laura Padfield, our beautiful wife, mother, and grandmother, died on Friday, September 1, 2006, of complications from liver cancer. Our hearts are breaking to say\ngood-bye, but we are grateful to know she has returned home to her Heavenly Father.\n\nBonnie was born on February 1, 1941, in Kamas, Utah to James and Ruby Louder. She was the much anticipated baby girl arriving to a family of five older brothers. She enjoyed a simple and wonderful childhood in Kamas. While there, she met her husband of now 47 years, Alden Padfield. They were high school sweethearts and got engaged on the evening of their high school graduation.\n\nAlden and Bonnie were married September 11, 1959, in the Salt Lake Temple. They welcomed three girls into their family, which grew to include three sons-in-law and ten grandchildren. “Grandma Bonnie” loved to gather her family into her home and had a unique way of making each child and grandchild feel confident that they must be her favorite. Besides making holidays and birthdays special, Bonnie always made it a priority to attend the important events of her children and grandchildren.\n\nBonnie loved to travel and thrilled at the many opportunities she had to travel with her husband and family. She enjoyed serving others and cultivating the relationships she cherished with her family, friends, and neighbors. But the thing we will miss the most is her compassion and ability to just listen. She truly knew how to be a good friend.\n\nBonnie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many of its organizations and particularly loved the opportunity to work with the youth and Primary children. She loved to attend the temple and was a woman of great faith.\n\nBonnie leaves behind her husband and sweetheart, Alden Padfield; her daughters and their spouses: Danna and Greg Robinson, Stacie and Scott Hanson and Cheri and Kurt Hawes; and her grandchildren: Dallas, Whitney, Mickelle, Taylor, Brock, Megan, Abbie, Spencer, Logan, and Lauren. She also leaves behind her five brothers and their families: Boyd, Jerry, Raymond, Elgin, and Myrl.\n\nFamily and friends are invited to attended services to honor Bonnie. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, September 5, from 7-9 p.m. at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (approximately 10600 South). Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 6, at noon at the LDS Stake Center, 1830 East 6400 South in Salt Lake.
