Boyd Lynn Hay, 84, passed away at his home in Taylorsville on July 18, 2021. He was a twin born to Albert LaVell Hay and Donna May Barker on February 21, 1939 in Salt Lake City, Utah.\r\n\r\nIn his younger years he worked on the family farm and was a good swimmer who won ribbons at Liberty Park Pool. \r\n\r\nHe was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and married Karen Dawn Stewart in 1966 in the Salt Lake Temple. They had two children, son Jeff and daughter Kimberly. Boyd was known as a caring, hard- working, honest husband, father and grandfather with an infectious smile. He retired from Salt Lake Community College as a custodian.\r\n\r\nBoyd is survived by his wife, 2 children, 5 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Norman (Judith) Hay; and his sisters, Norma (Lynn) Wanlass; and Donna (Larry) Wooden.\r\n\r\nPreceded in death by his parents; brothers, LaVell Irwin (Siggi) Hay and Lloyd (Pearl) Hay; as well as his sisters, Doris (Robert) Sonne and Deloris (Ken) Hickok.\r\n\r\nA viewing will be held on Monday, July 26th, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Home, 4760 South State Street, Murray, Utah, followed by a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. at Elysian Burial Gardens, 1075 East 4580 South, Millcreek, Utah.
