Kenneth Brent Pendleton will be forever adored, cherished, and remembered by his loving family. Our hero courageously faced the challenges of Alzheimer’s with patience, kindness, and grace until his passing on October 7, 2026. We are endlessly proud of him and extremely grateful that he is now fully restored and reunited with the loved ones who went before him.
Brent was born on June 19, 1943, to Kenneth Calvin and Virginia Sanders Pendleton in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was their first son and the second of six children: Barbara (Jeff) Wensel, Brent (Connie), Richard "Dickie", Judy (Guy) Thompson, Mark (JoAnn), and Brenda (Craig) Buck. His formative years were spent in Spokane, Washington, and Bountiful, Utah. From an early age, Brent loved being active and learning new things. He played the accordion and enjoyed tennis, basketball, swimming, golfing, skiing, camping, yard work, hunting, and fishing—many of these passions remaining a part of his life for decades to come.
Brent graduated from Bountiful High School in 1961 and went on to attend the University of Utah and Weber State University, where he studied business and finance.
From 1962 to 1964, Brent was called to serve faithfully in the North British Mission. From 1966 to 1972, he served in the Army National Guard. Service, hard work, and loyalty were qualities that defined Brent throughout his life.
Brent possessed an exceptional work ethic and pursued a variety of occupational endeavors, including owning a used car dealership, Brenton Motors. Most notably, he founded his general contracting company, Pendleton Builders. Alongside his dear brother, Mark J. Pendleton, Brent built Pendleton Builders into a successful career spanning 40 years. He had an incredible eye for detail, a natural talent for creative design, and an intense pride in his work. Through his integrity, craftsmanship, and dedication, Pendleton Builders became a highly respected and valued name in the industry.
In the fall of 1971, Brent met his sweetheart, Connalee “Connie” Redhair, through a mutual friend. They were married the following leap year, on February 29, 1972. Brent always loved to joke that he took Connie to lunch the day they met—and had been buying her lunch ever since. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on July 22, 1975, and have been happily married for 54 years.
On June 14, 1978, their son, Todd Kenneth Pendleton, was born, followed by their daughter, Kimberly Ann Pendleton, on October 1, 1980.
Their family life was filled with fun, laughter, and adventure. Brent and Connie created countless memories with their children through skiing, ATV riding, exploring Moab Jeep Safari trails, Disney and Caribbean cruise vacations, a variety of music lessons, building two homes, raising geese and ducks, and—most of all—infinite joy and love. When his “princess” granddaughters, Hallie and Evie, came along, Brent was absolutely delighted to be a grandfather. They brought such happiness to his life, and he treasured the special bond they shared. Brent was a wonderful husband, father, and “Papa,” who was deeply devoted to his family and took great pride in them.
Brent and Connie were also committed to their faith and were actively involved in their church throughout their marriage, holding various leadership callings, serving an 18-month Senior Mission in South Salt Lake City, Utah, from 2009 to 2011, and continually seeking opportunities to serve others. Brent had a strong love for and testimony of our Savior, Jesus Christ. His faith was a quiet but steadfast foundation throughout his life, and he sought to live the principles of service, charity, kindness, and love.
Brent passed away peacefully on the morning of October 7, 2026, with his sweetheart by his side and surrounded by his family. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Connie; his son, Todd; his daughter, Kimberly (Kendall Paul) Pendleton Thomas; his granddaughters, Hallie (Taylor Albert) Pendleton Neill Lee and Evelynn “Evie” Elizabeth Pendleton; and many extended family members and dear friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
His life was one of hard work, faith, service, love, laughter, and devotion to his family. He will be profoundly missed, but the legacy of love he created will live on through the generations who were blessed to know him.
Until we meet again—we love you forever.
