Brent Peter Wankier

Our father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Brent Peter Wankier died Wednesday, April 9, 2014.
Brent was born September 11, 1942 in Salt Lake City to Norman Wankier and Verda Hansen Wankier; both preceded him in death.
Brent was a hard worker and entrepreneur. There was not a project he wasn't willing to take on from building houses, to putting in sprinkling systems, to gardening. He opened his own business, Pier 1 Imports, with his wife, Virginia Morris Wankier, in 1978 in Orem, Utah and later opened a second one in Layton. He loved to golf and be with family and friends. He was also extremely charitable. There wasn't anything he would not do for his family and friends.
Our dear father lived many, long, hard years dealing with illness and pain and while we will miss him terribly, we are assured he is no longer suffering. We will always love you!
Brent is survived by his children, Channing Wankier (Mindy H.) and Jackie Wankier; his grandchildren, Spencer Wankier, Ashley Wankier Bourdos (Alex), Katie Wankier and Fox Gavura ; his brother, Bartley Wankier (Maureen), his buddy, Hercules and his living angel, Virginia Wankier.
An informal gathering for Brent will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street, Murray, Utah. The graveside service will be at the Levan Town Cemetery, 600 E. 400 S., Levan, Utah, on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 2:00 pm.
