Bruce Maurer

–

Elko, Nevada

It is with a heavy heart and a chuckle that we celebrate the life of Bruce Dwayne Maurer, our beloved father, brother, and grandfather. Born in the sunny city of Orange, CA, on December 8, 1956, Bruce was an embodiment of resilience and dedication, traits that defined his journey from his roots in California to his residence in Elko, Nevada. As Mark Twain once said, "The secret of getting ahead is getting started," and start Bruce did! He spent his professional life as a truck driver, traversing the vast landscapes of America, an adventure he thoroughly enjoyed within the trucking and mining industries.

Bruce was a man of few words but vast love, especially when it came to his children. Their happiness was his ultimate goal, and he never hesitated to drive an extra mile or two if it meant a smile on their faces. As a divorcee, Bruce was a testament to the saying by Albert Einstein, "You never fail until you stop trying." His resilience was his strength, and he proved that every end is just a new beginning.

Bruce is survived by his son, Kevin Maurer, his daughters, Jessica Muranyi, Jennifer Dunnam, and Julianne Maurer; his sister, Sherry Rosczyniala; his sons-in-law, Kyle, Braytan and Jason. He will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Jessie, Colton, Blake, Kayson, Xzavier, Nova, and Karter. Bruce was preceded in death by his father, John Maurer, his mother, Shelby Hoeg, and his brothers, Lewie and Steve.

Life without Bruce will not be the same, but we know he would want us to remember the good times, the laughter, and the love. We invite you to share your favorite memories, stories, or pictures of Bruce on his memorial page. Let's celebrate his life in the way he would have wanted us to: with joy and a little bit of that Maurer humor.
