Cameron Richard Tucker was born to Richard Legrande Tucker and Diane Mathie Tucker on April 22, 1982, in Provo, Utah. He grew up in Davis County and graduated from Northridge High School in Layton with the class of 2000. After high school, he served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, returning honorably from the North Carolina Raleigh mission in 2003.
In his life, Cameron had a passion for music, cooking, mechanics, fishing, and outdoor activities. Middle-schoolers could best enjoy his sense of humor as he was known to make and laugh at fart jokes and teach small children to say “ew poo” as their first words. From a young age, Cameron desired to marry and have a family. He strove to be a good father; "Dad” was his most valued title. Cameron could sing beautifully, and singing and performing were common highlights of his life. He had a talent for speaking, a natural charisma, and could be extremely convincing. He was known to inspire and engage others with heartfelt delivery, leaving a lasting impact on those who heard him.
Cameron was a dreamer; he believed sincerely in the power to attract and manifest abundance in his life. He was always working at something big, whether a business, side gig, or project—Cameron didn’t know how to do anything unless he was diving into it head first, without question, and with vigor. He rarely concerned himself with long plans or details; he would just get started and figure it out as he went along, often to the concern of people close to him who may have, in vain, attempted to slow him down or ask him to think things through to the end. Cameron could see the vision of what he believed was possible, even when everyone around him did not. Pesky things, like resources and roadblocks, never kept him from starting something new.
Cameron’s most recent passion was creating a thriving restaurant with his finacé, Andi, and the network of wonderful friends he made in Prescott and Prescott Valley, Arizona. He saw a vision of a place where people could gather and receive a warm meal and a smile. Their hard work and dedication created a place of community and friendship that will be valued by the locals long after he has gone. Cameron will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of rubbing shoulders with him.
Cameron fought long and hard to overcome many mental health challenges. Ultimately, he chose to end his life by his hand at the age of 42 on August 13, 2024, in his home in Prescott, Arizona.
He is survived by his parents, Richard and Diane Tucker; fiancé, Andrea “Andi” Harvey, and her children, Jake, Tucker, and Finn Harvey; former wives and their children, Adrianna, Daniel “Dan”, and Mahonri Tucker (Stephanie Sullivan); Rhydon and Xaq Tucker (Brittany Paschal); and his siblings, Heidi (Matthew) Trimble, Karyn (BJ) Byram, Jennifer (Randy) Trimble, and Ryan (Alyssa) Tucker. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ted and Jessie Tucker, Dale “Bill” and Theo Mathie, and Nadine Mathie. His 13 nieces and nephews also survive him.
