Taylorsville, Utah
Camille Plott Bradley, adored by her family and friends, passed peacefully into the loving arms of her Savior on the evening of December 31, 2022. She was born on February 24, 1940, in Murray, Utah to Millius and Wilma (Barrus) Plott. The youngest of four children, Camille held close relations with her two brothers and sister. Leon, her oldest brother was her protector, Raeola was her best friend, and Brent… he sure loved to tease Camille.
One of the most important things Camille was taught at a young age was famiglia – family is everything. Raised near her aunts, uncles, and cousins, Camille had warm relationships with each of them. There was a particularly special bond between her and her Italian grandmother, Orsola who lived next door. Camille passed on the importance of family to her children and grandchildren. To this day, the family still enjoys gathering for meatballs on Christmas Eve and lasagna on New Year’s Day – one of their long-held Italian family traditions.
From her early years to her last days of life Camille showed great enthusiasm and a passion for singing and music. Throughout her school years in Murray, she was often found singing for assemblies and other school events. She had a gift for picking up the harmony to any tune, and if she wasn’t singing, she was whistling. Camille had a great love for her school days and the city where she grew up, and like the pride she held for her Italian heritage she also had immense Murray pride!
After high school, while working for the Utah State Employees Credit Union, Camille met her sweetheart Orval (Keith) Bradley who had been working as a draftsman for the state. Camille married a true country bumpkin, as she liked to tell it, for their first date they went out to dinner though Keith had never “e’t out” before. They married in the Salt Lake City Temple on May 19, 1961. Throughout their marriage, Keith and Camille shared good humor through the ups and downs of life. Together they raised three children in Taylorsville, Utah: Kristine, Sterling, and Richard. Keith and Camille were fortunate enough to have family on both sides nearby and held wonderful relationships with their siblings, nieces, and nephews over the years. It was a great joy for her to watch her children grow up close to their cousin’s.
During her life, Camille held many callings for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and was an avid reader. Over the years she spent time studying early church history and serving in the temple. According to her son-in-law Leon, Camille’s time serving in the temple were some of her happiest years.
She had many other loves in life: her four grandchildren, the Winter Olympics (especially the ice skating events), Christmas, gathering for summer holiday BBQs on the patio and family reunions. Camille made sure her family assembled often. She has been dearly missed over the last several years as she has battled her way through the challenges of dementia.
Camille is survived by her sweetheart, Keith; her three children: Kristine (Leon), Sterling (Melissa), and Richard (Scott); four grandchildren, Chelsea (Ian), Megan (Jared), Gerrit (Emily), and Brandon; and five great-grandchildren; Molly, Charlotte, Harvey, Nora, and Ezra. She is greeted in death by her parents; Millius and Wilma, her three siblings; Leon (Betty), Raeola (Alan), and Brent. What a happy reunion they are having!
The family would like to thank her doctor Marcia Pinkerman and the staff at Legacy House of South Jordan, especially those angles in the Cottage who loved and cared for Camille over the last three years. Also, thank you to those staff at Aspire Hospice who cared for her during her last few months.
