“Our Dear Mom”\n\nCarissa Jones Hill, after living a wonderful life, returned to her Heavenly Father 2 March 2006 at the age of 93. She was active until the last month of her life associating with the neighbors, family and friends. She loved serving others and making sure those around her were comforted and remembered.\nShe was born 16 August 1912 in SLC, Utah, to Thomas Henry Jones and Jane Gibson. She grew up in the Salt Lake area and graduated from East High School.\n\nMarried Thomas Vernon Hill 28 Nov 1934 in the SL Temple. They shared 64 wonderful years together until he passed away in 1998.\n\nCarissa was very active in the LDS church, serving many years as Relief Society president. She loved children and taught many in primary. Her first love was her family and friends. She was a superb homemaker. She excelled in the talent of making beautifully decorated cakes and delicious candies. Many weddings and birthdays were blessed by her creations.\n\nShe is survived by three sons: Farron (Maurine), West Valley; Larry (Marilyn), Taylorsville; and David, Selitz, Oregon; sister, Blanche Thomas; and brother, Frank, Spokane, Wash. Preceded in death by husband, three brothers and one sister.\n\nFuneral services will be held Sat., 11 Mar 2006, at the Valley View 2nd Ward Chapel, 4385 S Albright Dr. (~2200 East) at 11:00 am. Friends may call Fri., 10 Mar from 6-8 pm at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary (4750 S State St., Murray) and at the church 10-10:45 am prior to services. Interment Elysian Burial Gardens.
