Our beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend passed away peacefully with her family by her side, and returned home to her Heavenly Father and to loved ones who had gone on before her on February 27, 2016, which was also the birth date of one of her grandchildren. She was 79.
Claudia was born August 6, 1936, in Cedar City, Utah to Loran David and Vera Harmon Hirschi. Her childhood years were spent in Cedar City. During her summers, while attending College of Southern Utah, she enjoyed working at Zion National Park. She also attended Utah State University. She met Eldon Warner and they married in 1958. Together they raised their four children in Sandy, Utah.
Mom looked forward to dinners and visits with family and friends, cards, letters, picnics at the park, and visits to the Hogle Zoo. She loved cheeseburgers, Litza's Pizza, Hersey bars with almonds, and always a Diet Coke with ice. She loved her Saturday strawberry milkshakes that her son, Richard brought to her devotedly and couldn't get enough of the Wild Cherry Slurpee's that were brought to her at St. Marks Hospital. She loved to play the piano and to watch classic movies.
She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Our family is forever grateful for the thoughtful and professional caregivers that attended her throughout the years. A special thanks to Travis and Team at SpringCreek Healthcare Center, and Intermountain Dialysis Center, who all helped her maintain dignity and grace to the end. Her last days were spent at St. Marks Hospital, where she and her family were attended to by the most kind, compassionate, and most caring staff.
With grateful hearts we give thanks to the loving support of family, cousins, sister-in-law's and friends who were so supportive, patient and loving to her along the way.
Her son, Richard has been an attentive, loyal and her faithful right hand man for the past eight years. We give a special acknowledgement to him for all of his efforts in her behalf.
She will be greatly missed, but her Spirit and sweet, sweet smile will always be within us. It truly warmed our hearts. Her children will all miss Saturday afternoon's gathered around her at Intermountain Dialysis Center in Murray, Utah.
She is survived by her four children who cherished their time with her, Lynda; (Scott) Applegate; Richard Eldon Warner; Randal David Warner; Douglas Krehl Warner. Her loving sister; Merial Everett, her thoughtful brother, Richard; (Darlene) Hirschi. She was preceded in death by her parents. She had six beautiful grandchildren, Courtney Warner; Darien Warner; Ashlee (Kevin) Hair; Trace Applegate; Kael Applegate; Camren (Ashley) Applegate and four great grands; Dax Hair, Wyatt Hair, Carter Hair and Rhyss Jorgensen. They called her Grandma CC.
A viewing will be held at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary; 4760 S. State St. Murray, Utah on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. A private family service will be held for Claudia. Interment: Elysian Burial Gardens. Please share online condolences at www.jenkins-soffe.com.
