Closs L Stewart Obituary (1919 - 2019)

Closs “L” Stewart Ever Remembered Closs “L” Stewart, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, man of faith. Born November 5, 1919, died February 10, 2019. Closs served in the Southern States Mission from 1940-1942, then served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the area of Regensburg, Germany. He remained in the reserves until retirement. He worked at Sears in Salt Lake City, Kennecott and Boston Building before being employed by the U.S. Postal Service. He enjoyed being a letter carrier in Kearns. He served in bishoprics, high counsels and stake presidencies. He enjoyed camping and building ‘the Cabin’ with his family. Closs married Fern Lewis on November 3, 1948 in the Salt Lake Temple and they have been married 70 years. They are the parents of six children. Survived by wife Fern, children; Linda (Jerry), Dawn (Bob), Arlo (Carma), Louise (Mark), Lowell (Marcy), Darrell (Penny), 26 grandchildren, 62 great grandchildren. A viewing will be held Thursday February 14, 2019 from 6-8:00 pm at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley 1007 W. South Jordan Pkwy. (10600 S). Funeral Services will be held Friday February 15th at 11:00 am at Mackay Meadows Ward Chapel located at 2976 Winchester Drive in West Valley City, UT with a viewing from 10:00-10:45 prior to the service. Interment at Utah Veterans Memorial Park.
