Martin Maynes, age 86, passed away peacefully the morning of August 2nd, 2021.\r\n\r\nShe was born June 26, 1935 in Burton, Idaho to John Lewis Pincock and Verda Bair Preece.\r\n\r\nShe met her future husband Stanley Wells Martin at Granite High School and they later married on August 29, 1955 in the Salt Lake City Utah Temple. After Stanley’s death, she married Harry Melvin Maynes.\r\n\r\nColleen was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings throughout her life. She also enjoyed working as a temple worker in the Jordan River Temple. She remained faithful to the gospel throughout her life.\r\n\r\nIn her early years, some of her hobbies included camping, golfing, bowling, crocheting, and knitting. Later in life, she enjoyed reading books, listening to music, and spending time with her family.\r\n\r\nColleen worked at Cottonwood Hospital as a secretary, and for the Murray School District as an elementary school lunch worker.\r\n\r\nColleen will be well-remembered for her love of desserts and treats, such as Swedish Fish and Red Vines, as well as her love for Diet Mtn. Dew. We love you and look forward to when we meet again.\r\n\r\nShe is survived by her children: Mrs. Jeff (Kathy) Maxfield, Mrs. Paul (Carolee) Tate, Mr. Doug and Carolyn Martin, and Mr. Brad and Jen Martin, as well as her 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, with another on the way. She is also survived by her sister Joan (Paul) Mecham.\r\n\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, and sisters (Marjean Taylor and Gwen Hartley).\r\n\r\nFuneral services will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021, at the LDS River Oaks Chapel, 8950 South 1300 West at 2pm in West Jordan, UT. Friends may call between 12:30-1:45pm prior to the service. Interment at Elysian Burial Gardens.
