Colton Reeves Ericksen Obituary (1993 - 2013)

Colton Reeves Ericksen, our beautiful son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend at age 19 returned home to his father in heaven on July 15, 2013 after a tragic car accident. He was born December 24, 1993 to Lane and Traci Ericksen. He graduated from Copperhills High School Class of 2012. Colton had so much passion for life and he was such a talented young man. He accomplished so much in his short time here on earth. He loved skateboarding and filming, but his real passion in life was music. He was a natural. He was currently touring the United States with his band "Dark Seas". They were on their second tour after releasing their first CD and were currently working on another one. He loved traveling, performing and playing his guitar with his friends. He was living his dream. Colton loved being with his family, who always loved him, stood by his side and supported him in all his passions in life. He especially adored his beautiful sister Brooke whom he would never hesitate to let her know how much he loved her. The phrase "I love you" was used every day in our home. He was a smart, kind, talented loving son who touched so many lives. He will be missed by all who knew him. Colton is survived by his father Lane Ericksen (West Jordan), his mother Traci Ericksen (Midvale), his sister Brook Ericksen. His grandparents: Martha and Harry Filkill (The Villages, FL) and grandmother Renee Ericksen (West Valley City). So many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins, and dear true friends. Preceded in death by his grandfathers, David Ericksen and William Reeves. We wish to thank all the family, friends, and co-workers for their prayers, love and support during this time. Until we meet again buddy, we love you and will miss you! A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 22, 2013 at 12:00 noon at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 South), South Jordan. Viewings will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2013 at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley from 5:00-7:00 pm and on Monday from 10:00-11:45 am prior to the service. Interment Redwood Memorial Estates.
