Connie Penovich Brimhall 1942-2008, mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away on August 6 at St. Mark's Hospital. Born August 11, 1942 to Joseph and Mildred Allen Penovich in Provo.\nMarried Robert William Buck in October 1962 and had three boys. They were divorced in 1975. She remarried February 14, 1981 to Gary King Brimhall who died later the same year. \nShe was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Millcreek 9th Ward. She was devoted employee with the Utah Department of Corrections since April 1968. She loved her work and the many people she worked with. She was the first female Correctional Officer as well as the first female Parole Officer. \nShe is survived by her children: Rob (Vicki) Buck, Austin, TX; Craig (Jan) Buck, Brashear, TX; Troy (Angie) Buck, New Plymouth, ID. Three sisters; JoAnn (John) Bone, Orem; Gail (David) Ingram, Provo; Carol (Jeff) Freeman . Seven grandchildren; Eli, Eva, Tyler, Samantha, Connor, Sadie and Jaycie; As well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.\nFuneral services will be held Monday August 11, 2008, at 11 a.m.. in the chapel at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary at 4760 South State St., Murray. Interment will follow at the Spanish Fork City Cemetery. Friends and family may visit Sunday evening 5-7 p.m. at the mortuary.\nIn lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the memorial fund for fallen peace officers at www.utahsfallen.org.
