Coy McKee Unker (Grandma Coco) passed away Saturday, February 18th, 2023, at her son’s home in South Jordan Utah. Coy was born on September 2nd, 1933, to William F McKee and Minnie A (Gillman) McKee in South Jordan Utah. \n\nShe graduated from Jordan High School and worked as a secretary at Oquirrh Hills Middle School for many years. She grew up in South Jordan on the family farm and dearly loved her parents and siblings and had many stories to share like gathering and washing eggs in the family home prior to leaving for school each day. One of mom's cherished memories was a trip to Europe in her early twenties with a large BYU group. \n\nCoy Married Jackie Colman Unker on July 15th, 1960, and their marriage was later solemnized in the SLC temple (1970). Coy was an accomplished cook she was famous for her chocolate cake with seven-minute frosting. People loved to be the recipient of her delicious recipes. Coy was a lifelong member of the LDS church and held many callings during her lifetime. \n\nCoy was preceded in death by her husband Jack Unker and one son John Colman Unker. She is survived by one daughter Merrilee (Fred) Trovato and two son's Matthew (Dawn) Unker & William Unker. She has 8 grandchildren along with 6 great-grandchildren with another one on the way. We would like to extend a special thanks to CNS Hospice services (Michelle, Pam and Joan) for their loving care of mom. \n\nThere will be a short service at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary (1007 W. South Jordan Pkwy, South Jordan, UT 84095) at 2:00pm on Saturday, February 25, 2023. Interment will be at the South Jordan City Cemetery immediately after.
