Curtis Ray Gutke unexpectedly passed away on August 8th, 2023. He was born on February 2nd, 1998 in Murray, Utah.\n\nCurtis graduated from Cottonwood High School and went on to get his EMT. He then went into electrical engineering and had just entered his fifth year of schooling while working for IBEW. One of his colleagues shared this with us, “Curtis was great at what he did, one of the best electricians that I’ve worked with and the only one I trusted to come help install things at my house. He was so smart and got great grades on tests in school.” Curtis had many friends that treasured, cherished, and trusted him. He loved to talk with his parents, enjoyed spending time with his friends, smiling with his family, camping, dirt biking, going on trips, and loving with all his heart. He was inquisitive and kind, as well as a good son, brother and uncle.\n\nCurtis is survived by his parents; Becky Gutke and Gordon Gray. Grandparents; Shirley and Robert Wolford. Siblings; Casey (Jeffry) Everett, Chance (Samee) Gutke. Nieces and Nephews; Alexa, Parker, Kyson, Nova, and Ireland. Preceded in death by Birth father; Matthew Durfey, Great Grandparents; John and Virginia Barnes, and Uncles; Kenneth and Dave Wolford.\n\nA viewing will be held at Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Homes, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway, South Jordan, Utah on Sunday, August 13th from 5-7pm. A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, August 14th at Noon at the funeral home with a viewing prior from 10:30-11:30am. Due to the private burial services to be held at a later date, the family requests no cemetery flower arrangements to be sent.\n\nThe family would like to express their thanks to the services of the West Jordan Police Department and The West Jordan Fire Department, the medical team in the Emergency Department at Intermountain Medical Center for their exceptional care, Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Homes for their kindness and guidance through this especially difficult time, and last a huge thanks to all those who have reached out in any way to the family offering their love and support.
