Dale Kay Johanson

Dale Kay Johanson died peacefully on August 27, 2017 in St George.
He was born Feb. 1, 1934 to Dale and Marie Johanson. He was the oldest of 3 children.
He married his Sweetheart Linda Roghaar on August 30, 1973 in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they lived in North Salt Lake for 33 years. Upon retirement they moved to St. George.
Kay was a long time employee at ZCMI in the Cottonwood Mall. He worked there for 45 years in the luggage department. He was a hard worker and enjoyed helping people meet their travel needs.
Kay loved his dog’s Spike and Quincy. They were his boys. He also loved sports. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and routed for them faithfully. He was finally able to attend one of their games last year and was so excited for this trip of a lifetime. He also was a devoted Jazz fan.
Kay was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in many capacities.
Kay was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Marie, His brother Allen, and his sister Sandra. He is survived by his wife, Linda.
Funeral proceedings will be Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017 at 11:00 am. Westland 8th Ward, 7115 So. 3200 W. West Jordan, Utah. Viewing will be prior to Service from 9:30-10:45.
Internment Wasatch Lawn. 3401 S. Highland Drive.
