“Beloved Leo”\nDaniel LaVar Smith passed away 3/11/2007 after a motorcycle accident 3/10/07. LaVar lives on, as he was an organ donor. Preceded in death by LaVar’s father, Heber B. Smith Sr., brothers, Heber B. Smith Jr. and Wallace Blackburn Smith.\nLaVar was born August 09, 1956 to Helenbeth and the late Heber B. Smith. The love of his life and soul mate and beloved wife, Cynthia Selin Smith will miss him until they are reunited in God’s Kingdom. He is survived by his mother; sisters, Maurine Marshall (Jim); Earleen Smith; Thelma Nilsson; and brother, Archie Smith (Cindy). He is also survived by in-laws, mother-in-law, LaVon Selin; Dagmar Smith, Gordon Selin (Robyn), Kathy Moore (Jim), Lynette Gilchrist (Bruce) and Donna Ball (Dan).\nLaVar is going to be missed by his many nieces and nephews that absolutely adored him. \nLaVar served in the Marines at the end of the Vietnam War. He worked for several years driving truck for the John Brumback Trucking Company. For the past 30 years LaVar worked at Aquatech constructing swimming pools. He became one of Aquatech’s most respected foreman, where he also became part of the family.\nFuneral services will be held Saturday, March 17, 2007 at 10 a.m. at the Butler 18th Ward, 6634 So. Greenfield Way. Viewing will be on Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street, and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church. Interment: Loa City Cemetery.
