Daniel Woodard

–

West Valley City, Utah

Daniel (Dan) W. Woodard, 84, of West Valley City, Utah, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2025, with his sweetheart by his side. He was born in Vernal, Utah, the youngest of 6 children. Dan lived a rich and full life, leaving behind a legacy of devotion, hard work, and joy. For 64 years, Dan was married to his sweetheart, Joyce Hamblin Woodard. They met at Weber State College and together they raised five children, delighting in 19 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Dan dedicated over 38 years to the Teamsters, where he was known for his strong work ethic and reliability.

Dan found happiness in camping, hunting, and fishing. He also loved riding Harley motorcycles, tinkering on his Cushman scooters, and he was known as a gifted mechanic. He took pride in the motors he crafted with skill and care. Above all, Dan was a steadfast supporter of his family—whether his children or grandchildren were on the field, court, or stage, he and Joyce were there, cheering them on. Dan’s hugs and twinkling teasing smile could make anyone feel loved.

Dan is survived by his loving wife, Joyce; sons Bryce (Karen) Woodard and Daren (Aubrey) Woodard; daughter Danni Hall; and his cherished grandchildren—Wesley, Cameron, Chase, Austen, Wyatt, Maddie, Kyrsten, Jackson, Hudson, Logan, Alexas, Kenzie, Davie, Walker, Justus, Shade and his sister, Maryann Bodily. His great-grandchildren: Brynlee, Tucker, Jasmine, Charli, Ivory, and Kaladin—brought him endless joy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucius and May Woodard; sons Thane Woodard and Leroy Woodard; and granddaughter Jaidan Hall as well as 4 siblings.

A viewing will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025 at 9 a.m. with a memorial service to follow beginning at 10 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State Street, Murray, UT. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Cedar View Cemetery in Cedar View, Utah, where Dan will be laid to rest.
