David R Anderson loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Returned home to his heavenly father on Sunday July 28 2019.\r\n\r\nHe was born February 17, 1937 in Inglewood, California to John R Anderson and Stella Turner Anderson. His family moved to Utah where he attended Hawthorn Elementary and later when to South High School. He then joined the Air Force at the age of 17. He met the love of his life, Carolyn L Sampson, at the county fair and they were married 2 weeks later on September 21 1956. \r\n\r\nDuring his time in the Air Force, he served as a Radar Radio Aircraft Specialist in the Korean War. When he returned to civilian life, he worked as an engineer for a local military contractor where he worked until he retired. \r\n\r\nIn 1960 they were blessed with a daughter, Cynthia L Anderson, and in 1966 they had their son, David C Anderson.\r\n\r\nHe is survived by his wife, Carolyn; his son, David (Annette); 5 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and sister, Dona Jones, California.\r\n\r\nPreceded in death by his parents; daughter, Cindy; son-in-law, Mark; brothers, Wayne and Jim; and great-granddaughter, Liberty Ann.\r\n\r\nWe want to thank the staff at VAMC, Sandy Health and rehab and elevation Hospice for the care they provided.\r\n\r\nFuneral services will be at Jenkins Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State Street, Murray, Utah on Friday, August 2, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., with a viewing from 10:00-10:45 a.m. Interment will follow services at the Murray City Cemetery.
