David Chase

In the afternoon of June 7, 2015, David Chase passed away due to injuries associated with a fall after leaving church services. He died peacefully surrounded by family after a long life of heath challenges, which he bore with incredible patience, hope and humor. He was born in Salt Lake City on August 10, 1935 to Ferron Chase and Muriel Bennion. After serving a mission in the North Central States Mission, he attended BYU and received his BS and later a MS in Special Education.

David married Betty Smith in 1962 and had a son, Russell. David was an educator of special needs students and in traditional grade schools for much of his career. He served in various church positions and in his later years as a temple worker.

David is survived by his wife; son, Russell (Angie); and grandchildren, Megan (Chris), Amanda, Katie and Emily. Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Joel and Ralph; sister, Karen.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 11:00 am at River 8th Ward Chapel, 1255 W. Country Creek Rd (10775 S), South Jordan, Utah, with a viewing starting at 10am prior to the service. Friends and family are also invited to a viewing on Friday evening, June 12, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W South Jordan Pkwy (10600 S), South Jordan, Utah.
