Doing what he loved most, fishing at Lake Powell, David Gary Christensen died May 11, 2011 at Bullfrog Marina, Utah. He was born on June 21, 1945 to Donald Emanuel Christensen and Marian Bartlett.He married Joan Walker on September 2, 1969 in the Salt Lake City Temple. They had three sons, Gary Keith Christensen, William David Christensen and Eric Stephen Christensen. He leaves behind two beloved sisters, “bossy” Donna (Frank) Salinas and “his twin” Dianne (Gary) Beck who was born 10 months after his birth. Parents are deceased. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.David was a graduate of East High, University of Utah with both a Bachelor and a Masters of Social Work. David was a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and worked for many organizations. He was a kind and gentle man that enjoyed a quick joke. His family and friends will miss him. The family would like to especially thank his long time fishing buddies, Dave, Frank, Charlie, Big Ed and Mark for all the great memories that they gave him. To remember him by, eat sushi, go fishing, laugh, feed the birds, and wear yellow except on U of U game day (wear red).Graveside services will be May 18, 2011 at Murray City Cemetery, 5600 S Vine Street at 1:00 p.m. A small gathering after to share memories will be at the Murray 13th Ward House, 6320 South 700 West.In lieu of flowers, please give to KUED for public broadcasting.
