Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, soon to be\ngreat-grandfather, and brother peacefully returned to\nhis Heavenly Parents on the morning of August 25,\n2006.\n\nDavid was born on December 13, 1932 to Sterling and\nLovina Low in Cardston, Alberta, Canada. He was\nnaturalized as a US citizen on December 11, 1959. He\nmarried his sweetheart, Geraldine (Jerry) Nicholson on\nOctober 18, 1957. Their marriage was solemnized in\nthe Salt Lake Temple on October 17, 1958.\n\nDavid thoroughly enjoyed his profession as a dentist. \nHe graduated from Northwestern University in 1956 with\nhis DDS. He served for two years as a Captain in the\nUS Air Force. He was in private practice for 40\nyears. He helped establish the BYU Academy of\nDentists and was a member and president of many other\ndental organizations. He spent five years with the\nState Dental Board before becoming part of the Western\nRegional Examining Board.\n\nDavid's love for his Savior was naturally a part of\nhis every day life and was easily shared with those\naround him. He loved the scriptures and studied them\ndiligently and enthusiastically. He spent many happy\nyears of service in the Lord's church, in such\ncapacities as high council representative, bishop,\nmission secretary, and temple ordinance worker. Many\npeople have been the beneficiaries of his compassion\nand benevolence.\n\nDavid was a man of impeccable integrity and\nChrist-like love. As such, he had left behind a\nfamily legacy which will be strongly felt for many\ngenerations. As David enjoyed reminding us, "Family\nis where it's at" (aka speech #1). As a family, we\nspent many vacations together. Lake Powell was a\nspecial destination, where David enjoyed boating and\nwater skiing.\n\nSurviving him are his wife of 48 wonderful years,\nJerry; children Teriann, Steve, and Rick, and their\nspouses (whom he also considered his children), Brian,\nBeth, and Tammy; grandchildren Amy Booth, Anne (Jace)\nVernon and Natalie Booth, Marie and Kevin Low, Gregory,\n Ashley and Alyssa Low; soon to be\ngreat-granddaughter and special escort Aliyah Melissa\nVernon. Also surviving him are his brother Bruce Low\nand sisters Jean (Owen) Collett and Elaine (Joe) Jack;\nmother-in-law Marion Nicholson, brother-in-law Val\nNicholson.\n\nFamily and friends may call Tuesday, August 29, 2006\nat the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street\nin Murray, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. They may also call\nprior to the funeral services on Wednesday, August 30,\n2006 from 11:00 to 11:45 am. The funeral will be held\nat Noon at the Big Cottonwood Stake Center, 1750\nSpring Lane, Salt Lake. In lieu of flowers, the\nfamily asks that donations be made in David's memory\nto the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints\nmissionary fund or perpetual education fund.
