In Loving Memory of David James Overman
August 20, 1966-October 14, 2026

David James Overman, lovingly known as Dave, passed away on October 14, 2026, in Kennewick, Washington, at the age of 60.

Dave was born on August 20, 1966, in Flint, Michigan, to Jessie J. Overman and Michele Erickson. He attended Granite High School, where he played football and was a member of the wrestling team, graduating in 1984. He continued his education at Utah State and Utah Tech, earning his welding certification before beginning his career at Rocky Mountain Fab.

Dave later moved to Santa Rosa, California, where he worked for Alder Construction and earned a black belt in Taekwondo. It was there that he met his beloved partner, Lara Volatile. Together, they later made their home in Kennewick, Washington, where Dave worked as a mechanic for Lamb Weston.

Dave was a kind and gentle soul who always put others first. His thoughtfulness and quiet kindness were gifts to those who knew him, and his absence leaves a deep ache in the hearts of those who loved him. He will be remembered not only for the work he did and the things he accomplished, but for the caring person he was. To know him was not only to love him, but to feel the love he so freely gave.

Dave is survived by his partner, Lara Volatile; his mother, Michele, and stepfather, Vaughn; his sisters, Lori Jones, Stacy Rohrer, and Callie Overman; and his brothers, Kenneth Overman, James Overman, and Craig Jones. He was also blessed to have many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will be missed by all beyond measure.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jessie Overman; his stepmother, Diane; his grandparents, Harry and Phyllis Erickson; his beloved sister, Tauna; and his brothers, Randy Rohrer and Scott Woods.

Services will be held on November 5, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at West Jordan City Cemetery, 7925 S. 1300 W., West Jordan, Utah.

Though his family must say goodbye, the love they have for Dave will remain with them always and forever.

"May you rest in peace, my son. I love you always."
-Mom
