David Sanders

David Reiser Sanders
1947-2026

David Resier Sanders died on October 2, 2026. He was born to Heidi R. and S. Steven Sanders on December 12, 1947, and married Arlee Phillips on July 8, 1969.

David was a meteorologist with the National Weather Service. As lead forecaster he received the department's silver medal for issuing a flash flood warning that saved the lives of over 20 people.

David was an amateur pilot and astronomer, whose happiest moments were off-roading during vacations and tending to his garden.

David was preceded in death by his parents, sister Kathie, daughter Teri and nephew Steven. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Arlee Sanders, his daughter Kelly Sanders, his sister Heidi S. Wynn, and many loved nieces and nephews.

His life will be celebrated at a graveside service Tuesday, October 13 at 1:00 pm at 440 N and Center St in the Salt Lake City Cemetery (4 Ave & N street).
