David Bryce Swanson

–

American Fork, UT

David "Bryce" Swanson, born to Barbara Beth and David Ray Swanson in Salt Lake City, UT, passed away at 60 years young on Friday December 11, 2015. Bryce attended Salt Lake Community College studying computer science, which fueled his love of technology and the latest and greatest gadgets.
The boy scouts had a special place in his heart. Many adult leaders and young men's lives were enhanced through his mentoring and guidance. Since 1992, He has served many roles and on many committees throughout the Boy Scouts of America association. He earned his Silver Beaver in 2008.
So many words could describe him, but it still wouldn't be enough. He loved life and he wanted everyone around him to live their life to the fullest. He had the best sense of humor, which always put a smile on the faces of everyone around him. His teasing will be greatly missed. He was a life-long learner, who always tried to better himself and those around him. His selfless attitude had a positive impact on everyone that has had the pleasure to meet him. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, wildlife enthusiast, dutch oven master chef, and all around outdoorsman – spending many hours at his cabin in Fruitland. He loved to play his guitar, watch movies, shop at Costco, and take on new adventures. He loved to travel and was able to visit many wonderful places including yearly Disney trips with his kids and grandkids.
Bryce was an incredible man that was given the gift of making an impact on every life he came into contact with. He never spoke a bad word about anyone, and did everything he could to lead, teach and love everyone. He was generous to a fault and gave of all he had to those around him. He will truly be missed by everyone he influenced personally and professionally.
He leaves behind a great legacy: His beautiful wife of 41 years, Carla Lundeen Swanson, their 4 children; Angela Evans (Paul), Ryan Swanson (Ashlie), Dustin Swanson (Natalie), and Ashley Todd (Michael), 10 grandchildren, two sisters (Patty and Sue), two brothers (Mark and James) and many more extended family members and an incredibly long list of friends.
