David Mellor Wagstaff Wolford passed away late Saturday evening, January 2, 2021, after a two week stay in the ICU unit of Intermountain Medical Center. He was the oldest son to David F. and Marla M. Wagstaff, born May 24, 1980. Soon after his birth his dad nicknamed him Bucky and it stuck for the rest of his life.

David graduated from Brighton High School in May of 1998. Where he and his sister attended high school together. He would rush through the halls with Sherida, clinging desperately to his backpack. After high school he obtained many numerous jobs in the neighborhood and worked with his dad in the family business.

He loved time spent with his family and had many special times watching over his two little sisters who were under his care every evening while his mother and older sister cleaned an office building. Time spent outdoors with family members riding bikes and snow skiing were very bonding activities. He was blessed with a wondrous singing voice. He and his sisters always enjoyed singing with his favorites Celine Dion, Backstreet Boys and Josh Groban.

One day while walking through Antczk Park, Jackie and Stefanie found a pure bred brown Lab. Immediately the girls knew this was the dog for their brother, after testing the dog for ownership, they named the female lab, Brown Dog. David enjoyed the dog so much that when the dog died he set about making his home a haven for lost dogs.

He later found and married the love of his life, Kenneth John Wolford. They were married in a long list of other men who were seeking matrimonial bliss at the county complex on December 23, 2013. They enjoyed one another’s company until Kenneth passed away from complications to his health on August 4, 2017.

David enjoyed the freedom and exhilaration of obtaining and having cars so much that he and his spouse actually opened their own car lot located on 2100 So. Main Street. This became a very taxing challenge, since he was already employed at Salt Lake City 911 dispatch, located in downtown Salt Lake City. While working with 911 emergency and upon job shadowing her brother, Stefanie decided to, with the help of her brother, become employed by 911 emergency as well.

When Kenneth died, David felt a very big hole in his life which his younger Daniel soon filled. They became very tight, enjoying time together, attending various car shows and making time for quick road trips together. In fact, it was his brother, Daniel, who sent for the paramedics on December 21 2020.

David is survived by his father David F. Wagstaff, his mother Marla Mellor Wagstaff, sister Sherida M. Holgate (West Valley), brother Daniel L. Wagstaff (Murray), sisters Stefanie E. Bitter (Joseph) and Jackie A. Allen (Tyler).
