Our angel mom, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, age 92, passed away on December 22, 2020 at the home of her daughter in Bluffdale, Utah.
Dawn was born on October 30, 1928 in Beaver, Utah, a daughter of Marvin and Flora Baird Becktrom. Dawn graduated from Jordan High School. She married her eternal companion, Eldon D. Clark, in the Salt Lake Temple on May 29, 1950. Spencer W. Kimball performed the marriage and sealing ceremony.
Dawn worked as an office manager for Mountain States Insulation Company for many years. Dawn was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many positions. Being a choir director was an especially loved position. Dawn was so thrilled to be able to serve a mission with her husband, Eldon, in the Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh Mission from 1988-1990. She also served as a temple ordinance supervisor at the Jordan River LDS Temple.
Dawn spent most of her life in service of others, especially taking loving care of her daughter, Cynthia, for 56 years. She adored her family and nothing made her happier than spending time with her daughters and their families. She loved every grandchild and great-grandchild dearly and would go to great lengths to provide a special gift for each one every Christmas, including this Christmas.
She is survived by her daughters, LeeAnne (Joseph) Rickards; Suzanne (Karl) Brimhall; and Carolyn (Jack) Bona; ten grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sister, Marva Beckstrom Teran, and brother, Gerald Beckstrom. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of nearly 50 years, Eldon D. Clark, daughters, Cynthia and Kathleen, and brother, Ronald S. Beckstrom.
The family would like to express appreciation to her granddaughter, Julie Tanner, for her loving care for the past few years, Arla, her visiting nurse, and the Intermountain Hospice Staff.
A viewing will be held on Monday, December 28 from 5-7 pm at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 1007 W South Jordan Parkway, South Jordan. Masks and social distancing are required. Family members and invited guests will attend a viewing from 10-11 am and funeral services from 11 am to noon on Tuesday, December 29.
