Deborah Johnson Silver

–

Salt Lake City, UT

Deborah Johnson Silver returned to her Heavenly Father and other loved ones on February 11, 2010, due to complications from Muscular Dystrophy. Debbie was born to Marvin Ross and La Juan Casto Johnson on December 22, 1957.

She is survived by her husband Kent Silver, daughter Jill (Steve) Sundstrom, son Mark Silver, granddaughter Aurora Silver, mother La Juan Johnson and siblings: Vicki (Guy) Dorius, Bruce (Jennifer) Johnson, Steven (Dana) Johnson Ginny Johnson and Ron (Arva) Silver, as well as 21 nieces and nephews, and many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Marvin Johnson and her sister Pamela Barrie.

Debbie was a pillar of faith to her family and friends; it seemed that her faith in Heavenly Father’s plan was instilled and unshakable. She was also a strength to all those around her, determined and fierce in the things she wanted to do, or accomplish, in spite of all the challenges life put in her way.

She married Kent in 1978 and Jill entered their lives two years later, then after eight long years of waiting she was blessed with Mark in 1988. She loved being a mother and her family and children were always her first priority. Recently she had the opportunity to spend three months with her only grandchild Aurora and she loved being a grandma. She also loved the work that she did for many years at Jordan River Temple and all of the friends she made there.

Her spirit, light, laugh, smile and determination will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Friends and family may call at a viewing on Monday, February 15th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary 4760 South State Street, Murray Utah. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 16 at the Valley Park Stake Center, 2603 West 4700 South, with a viewing one hour prior. Interment Larkin Sunset Gardens.

Debbie’s family would like to thank the Taylorsville Fire Department and Ambulance services as well as the staff at Intermountain Medical Center CICU for the wonderful care they took of Debbie in her final week.
