DeeAnn Kuhn

–

St. George, Utah

DeeAnn McBride Kuhn, our loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and dear friend, affectionately known as “Grandma Dee Dah,” passed away unexpectedly on October 3, 2026.

DeeAnn was born on July 22, 1943, in Logan, Utah, to Lee and Phyllis McBride. Her family later moved to Salt Lake City, where she graduated from Granite High School in 1961. She went on to attend the University of Utah, where she began a life filled with family, love, laughter, and many cherished memories. She married Leon G. Olsen on September 20, 1962 and later divorced.

DeeAnn was blessed with five children, whom she lovingly raised in Sandy, Utah. She was a wonderful and nurturing mother who always put her family first. She loved camping with her family, baking, and was especially well known for her delicious pies. She found joy in sewing, gardening, ceramics, and attending the theater with her daughters and granddaughters. She also loved to crochet and cross-stitch, creating beautiful handmade gifts for her grandchildren and many others.

Family was DeeAnn’s greatest joy. She treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She had a special way of making the people around her feel loved and cared for.

Later in life, DeeAnn met the love of her life, Fred Kuhn. They spent 32 wonderful years together before finally tying the knot on January 6, 2026. Together they enjoyed working at Bonneville Trap and Skeet for many years, traveling to Florida, taking long drives, and simply spending time together on their patio overlooking the city they both loved—St. George, Utah.

DeeAnn was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She adored her little puppy Dolly. She loved her country, loved her family fiercely, and was a devoted Utah Utes fan. Those who knew her could probably hear her saying it now:

GO UTES!!

DeeAnn is survived by her husband Fred Kuhn, her five children: Janice Olsen of Centerville, Marianne Olsen of Midvale, Russell Olsen of Sandy, Tami Anderson (Ken) of West Jordan, and Michelle Harris (John) of South Jordan. She is also survived by her three bonus children, Dan, Kris, and Sam; her brother, Stephen McBride (Darcy); her sisters, Sharon Belka (Ken) and Marilyn Hansen; 19 grandchildren; and 20½ great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by Lee McBride (father), Phyllis McBride (mother), Gary Hansen (brother-in-law) and Skylee Kerbs (great grand-daughter)

DeeAnn leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love. Her family will remember her not only for the things she created with her hands—her pies, crochet, cross-stitch, ceramics, and countless other treasures—but for the love she poured into the people around her. The memories she created with her family will be carried forward for generations.

Our family would like to express our deepest gratitude to the wonderful staff at St. George Regional Hospital for their exceptional efforts and compassionate care. We would also like to give a very special thank you to her neighbor, Jayci, for her kindness and care.

DeeAnn was deeply loved and will be missed more than words can express. Her unexpected passing has left a tremendous hole in the hearts of all who knew her, but her love, laughter, and memories will remain with us forever.

Rest peacefully, Grandma Dee Dah.

Until we meet again, we love you.
