Della Fern Bushnell Buzard

Della Fern Bushnell Buzard passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2014 in West Jordan, Utah after complications from a fractured spine. She was born on March 14, 1944 to Charles Albert Bushnell and Delma Jewkes in Safford, Arizona. Six months later her family relocated to Southern California. Her mother liked to tell the story of baby Della standing up the whole way to California so she could look out the windows. She didn't sleep once on the way to their new home! Della married her sweetheart, Kenneth Leroy Buzard. They were sealed for time and all eternity on July 29, 1972 in the Los Angeles temple. They moved to Buena Park from Lakewood and lived there until 1999. Della loved children and ran a daycare from her home along side her sister, Ronnie, for 23 years. She was active in the church and served in many capacities. She was an excellent example of service in her home, community and church. She was always baking a cake or bringing dinner to someone in their time of need, and taught her children to serve others as well. She had a testimony of the gospel and she helped lift others up by her faith. She love to read, bake, shop at Costco and spend time with her family and friends.
Della is survived by her husband Ken, daughter Becky (Randy), sons Joel (Natalie), Brent (Marlene), Scott (Ashley), grandchildren McKenna, Emma, Grace, Tanner, Mason, Trenton, Charlie Rae, Genevieve and Grace Adell, sister Ronnie and brother Bert. Preceded in death by her son Aaron Joseph, sister Deanna, brother Ben and her parents.
Services will held on Wednesday April 9, 2014, 1:00 p.m. at Park 3rd Ward, 4825 West 7000 South, West Jordan. Viewings will be held on Tuesday, April 8th from 6:00-8:00 pm at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 So.) and on Wednesday at the church, from 12:00-12:45 pm. Interment West Jordan City Cemetery.
