“Greatly Missed”Del Cantrell entered eternal rest on April 12, 2010 in Murray, Utah. He was born February 16, 1923 in Missouri. Son of Anchor and Pearl Mae (Atnip) Cantrell. Married Doris Russell on\nJune 18, 1959.Born of humble beginnings, he was a self-made man that made a tremendous difference in many lives. As a WWII Veteran, he proudly served in the US Navy 23 years. Retired as Chief Petty Officer and completed a second career working for Abbott-Smith GM Diesel as an expert trainer for 36 years. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great- grandfather.Survived by loving wife, Doris; children, Dianna (Mark) VanderMeyden, Kim (Agi) Swaringen, Melinda (Vic) Mandrillo, Russell (Devonna) Cantrell, and David (Luna) Cantrell; grandchildren, Ashley, Kate, Nick VanderMeyden, Paula Cushing, Andy Swaringen, Nikki Mandrillo, Alex, Michael Cantrell, Phoenix, Zinnia Cantrell; and great-grandchildren, Maddie and Jakob Cushing. Preceded in death by grandson, Tony Cushing.Funeral services will be held Friday, April 16, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Park Ward Chapel,\n435 East 5600 South, Murray, UT. Viewings will be held Thursday, April 15th from \n6:00-8:00 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So State St., and Friday at the church from 12:00-12:45 p.m. prior to the service.
