Sandy, UT - DeMont Lindsey Beckstead returned home to be with his Heavenly Father and to be reunited with his parents and son.\n \nDeMont was born March 18, 1937 in Murray Utah to Dean and Mae Beckstead. DeMont and Jolene were married and sealed for time and all eternity on June 8, 1961 in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they had 3 wonderful kids, 2 sons and 1 daughter.\n \nDeMont graduated from Murray high school and then served a LDS mission for 2 1/2 years in the Netherlands and Belgium. He also completed 4 years of college between U of U and BYU. He also served many other callings with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.\n \nHe worked as a security guard at the U of U hospital while they were building it. He worked 30 + years at Emico where he retired. He also worked many other jobs before and after this. \n \nHe enjoyed bringing happiness to everyone when he and wife would perform as Mr and Mrs Claus at the malls and Christmas parties. He also loved being with his family no matter where that was. He loved to travel with his beautiful wife to exotic places around the world.\n \nDeMont is survived by his wife Jolene, Daughter: Debbie (Chuck), Son: Deon (Stephanie). 7 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren\n \n \nDeMont is preceded in death by his Parents Dean and Mae Beckstead, and son Kevin Beckstead\n \nFuneral Services will be Friday February 03, 2023 at 12:00 pm at the LDS church house, 8485 South 1000 East Sandy Utah 84094. A viewing will be on Thursday February 02 2023 from 6pm-8pm and one hour prior to funeral services 10:45 am - 11:45 am at the LDS church house\n \nThe Family would like to thank the healthcare professional teams at the U of U who took extraordinary great care of our Husband, Father and grandfather.
