Denece Stock

–

South Jordan, Utah

Evah Denece Green Stock passed away peacefully on June 9, 2025 at Riverway Assisted Living in South Jordan, Utah.

Den was born January 8, 1947, in Murray, Utah to Clayton Edwin (Bud) Green and Evah Caroline Brough Green. She was the oldest of four children. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents and brother Craig E Green.

Den served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in California and later served a mission in Salt Lake City for the records department. Den worked for the Utah State Board of Education for over 30 years. She loved working in her beautiful yard and especially being barefoot.

Den loved puzzles which aided in her passion for doing Family History work. She loved searching for information of the life and time for whomever she was making a Family History Book for. She would even go to places of genealogical importance to include photos in the books.

Den married Merlin Don Stock on February 5, 1982. She became an instant mother to Don’s 7 children and Grandmother to his three grandchildren. They were sealed in the Jordan River Temple on February 5, 1992.

Den and Don were perfect “partners in crime “in their adventures. Their adventures took them boating, 5th wheel camping and cruising to name a few.

Den had a positive outlook on life and loved serving others. She helped with childcare for some of her grandchildren. She cared for her mother preceding her death. She cared for Don’s parents traveling to Idaho weekly. She was the sole care provider for her sweetheart Don for over 10 years after his heart attacks. The scripture Matthew 10:39 describes Den’s life best.

Den is survived by her brother, Douglas (Donna) Green, sister Patricia “Pat” McMillan, her stepchildren Kim (Darwin) Mullins, Paula (Vance) Bradford, Connie (Larry) Larson, Lori (Stuart) Bowles, Todd (Mindy) Stock, Rebecca (Andrew) Boucher, Carl (Tara) Stock, 29 Grandchildren and 53 Great-grandchildren.

We would like to thank the wonderful staff and residents at Riverway for their loving care and friendship they gave Den.

Interment is at the West Jordan City Cemetery, 7925 South 1300 West, West Jordan, Utah on Friday, June 20, 2025 at 1:00 pm.
