Dennis was the middle of five sons.\n\nDennis loved and was immensely proud of his three daughters, son, daughter-in-law, two sons-in-law, and granddaughter. \n\nHe grew up in Monrovia, California, and attended Monrovia High School, where he played football and created life-long friendships.\n\nThe Gospel of Jesus Christ was an essential part of Dennis’ life. He was blessed with several good friends who introduced him to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was baptized at seventeen and later served a two-year mission in Stockholm, Sweden. He held various church callings – one of his favorites was teaching Sunday School to the youth. \n\nDennis was everyone’s best friend. Once you became friends with Dennis, you became a friend for life. He was loyal and put effort into each cherished relationship. He loved spontaneous visits, phone calls, and always let his loved ones know he was thinking of them.\n\nIn true Southern California spirit, Dennis was a member of the Pasadena Tournament of Roses for 32 years. He cherished his friendships and associations with other members and enthusiastically looked forward to the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl each January.\n\nEveryone who knows Dennis understands his love for good food. He loved to cook and was a master of the smoker. He loved sharing food and barbeque with his family and friends. \n\nDennis was preceded by his brother Don Laursen, his mother, Betty Diemer, and his dog, Baker. We know they are having a joyful reunion in Heaven. \n\nWe are so grateful for the outpouring of love we’ve received from family and friends.\n\nFuneral services will be held on Saturday, May 6.
